They are to the point with some experience, pep talk, and a punch line to make the next move. These are just a few of the "cheats" Brian talks about.Įach chapter is probably anywhere from 3 to 6 pages. Under Armour's "I will" - knowing your competition/opponents, conquering your fears, build a strong personal brand, and shoot for the moon. Nike's "Just do it" - be bold and do whatever it takes - know your opponent, announce don't ask, and going out there to do it with your natural abilities and mental toughness. The vibe he's trying to convey is a combination of Nike and Under Armour's slogans. Know when to drive and call the plays, have a decisive vision and playmaking, and know when to distribute the ball so that the team succeeds. It's a bit like playing point guard in basketball. The approach is that of a modern day young entrepreneur - aggressive, bold, and the will to make things happen even against traditional thinking and approach.

Just because there's some odd remarks, doesn't mean Brian doesn't preach useful goods. He wants to break them and get you to your goals quicker. I suppose you can nullify my rant since he is a self proclaimed entrepreneur who doesn't follow the traditional way of thinking. It's lazy and doesn't emphasize the point. To me, it's ill timed since he makes good points prior to swearing.

Some of the most respected leaders and motivational speakers don't swear. I'll let it slide since he does give you a lot of juicy meat to chew on. I know a lot of us are at fault for using this word too, but it's odd when he uses this as a repeated example on the first few pages and throughout the book. It means having courage, determination, and the will to push through to accomplish your goals. The most irritating was the anti-euphemism in reference to having "balls." We know what it means. That isn't without a few eyebrows being raised. While it did take a few short chapters for me to respect this guy, it is worthwhile. Why should I listen to this guy? There seems to be a million of these yuppie entrepreneurs nowadays. Raised millions of venture capital funding before 25. Really - this is a great book and I will keep the review short and get to work and a final piece of advice that he gives is that right now it is possible for the small guys with big ideas to be in control rather than the big guys with big money, this may not last very long and better get in now before it is too late.īrian Wong. When I first saw this book, thought it was like the fake guru Tim Ferris, when I read about Brian Wong - he is a no nonsense guy and someone who created something of value and he does not need to write this book to make money. ~ Update: Correcting a few editorial mistakes will make this perfect: (1) Amazon stock price is being reference 'as recently as 2012' somewhere in the book, remove references to year to make this book timeless, someone reading this book in 2017 will see it as - OMG this is so F****** dated book.
